Who Are We?

The Mission Oaks Teen Advisory Board (MOTAB) empowers teens to lead community events, service projects, and initiatives that foster local engagement and well-being. Through planning, collaboration, and leadership development, members inspire youth involvement and create meaningful impact within the district.

What Do We Do?

  • Plan and execute special events, service projects, and initiatives throughout the year with support from the Mission Oaks Recreation and Park District.
  • Develop diverse skills and leadership techniques to contribute effectively to community efforts.
  • Create strategies to increase teen engagement and foster a sense of community involvement.
  • Organize and conduct meetings to plan impactful activities.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a board position, applicants must:

  • Attend a school within the district boundaries.
  • Commit to a one-year term from August 2025 to May 2026.
  • Attend one meeting per month (1–2 hours; time and date decided by the board).

Board Positions

There are Elected Board Positions and Officer Positions. Elected Board Positions are available to returning board members only:

  • Chair
  • Vice Chair
  • Secretary
  • Programming Officer
  • Treasurer

All new members and non-elected returning members will serve as Officers.
