Park Patrol

Sheriff badge for Sacramento County with a gold border and a building in the center.

The Sheriffs, and Private Security patrol our parks daily providing security and law enforcement services for our park district residents as well as contracted park districts.

The goal of the park police is to provide park visitors with a safe and enjoyable recreation experience in all of our parks and facilities.  Professional interaction with visitors as well as a balanced combination of education and enforcement by our park police helps to accomplish this goal. When necessary, the officers make arrests and issue citations for violations of local, state, and federal law. Regular supplemental law enforcement is funded by our citizens through the Mission Oaks Park and Recreation Park District general fund budget.

Though the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department is the general law enforcement agency in our district, our primary supplemental patrol services are performed by Tiger Security officers.
