Park Patrol

May contain: logo, trademark, symbol, and badge

The FEC Park Police, Sheriffs, and Private Security patrol our parks daily providing security and law enforcement services for our park district residents as well as contracted park districts.

The goal of the park police is to provide park visitors with a safe and enjoyable recreation experience in all of our parks and facilities.  Professional interaction with visitors as well as a balanced combination of education and enforcement by our park police helps to accomplish this goal. When necessary, the officers make arrests and issue citations for violations of local, state, and federal law. Regular supplemental law enforcement is funded by our citizens through the Mission Oaks Park and Recreation Maintenance and Improvement District, usually referred to as the “Assessment District”.

Though the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department is the general law enforcement agency in our district, our primary supplemental patrol services are performed by officers of the Fulton-El Camino (FEC) Park District Police. Officers are fully sworn California Peace Officers with the same authority as Sheriff’s Deputies and the City of Sacramento Police Officers.  We also contract with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department for additional patrols.
